Sunday Morning Stuff

Every Sunday after 5:00 a.m. mass, the men who work for the diocese meet for coffee in Hiep's room. These men have worked here for a long time, one up to 28 years. Their jobs are difficult, the hours long, and the pay...well, when you work for the Church, there is never enough money. But they make the place vibrant with life and keep things running. The talking and laughter never stopped, and they said they would never want to do anything else.
Oh, and they wanted me in a picture also.
The children have been playing soccer on cement between the classrooms. There have been many scrapes and lots of bruised toes. So they decided to clean up the "soccer field" that is used mostly to park tourist buses. This field is half grass and half stones. Many hands make light work, mom always said, and that is certainly true here. After breakfast, the children went to work. I worked also, of course, and got out the biggest stone on the field. It was exhausting, but we all have to chip in. Also notice that that boys don't work with the girls and vice versa, and the girls do much more work and have fun doing it, while the boys try not to work except when someone's watching. Sound familiar? Sounds like boys and girls everywhere.
