Doing the Hokey Pokey

So after dinner, we were upstairs talking, just minding our own business, and Mr. Hieu came up and reached out the window to adjust the flood light. I looked outside and saw, to my amazement, everyone setting up for an ad hoc party. No reason, just because.

Of course, there had to be music and karaoke.
These are the guys who helped set it all up.
What I saw as I walked out the door...a huge tarp and lots of fruit and snacks. The good stuff came later.
Everyone was in a festive mood. Fr. Peter Hien provided the M.C.ing for the evening.
Of course, the good sisters joined in, never passing up an opportunity to have some good fun.
This is me and sister superior. She got up to sing and wowed the crowd.
That large basket with all the straws contains homemade rice wine. When you are called up, you either have to sing a song or take a long drink of wine. Of course, it's OK to do both.
When it was my turn, I decided that it was time for everyone to learn the Hokey Pokey. Everyone got the moves right, if not the words.
And, of course, the women and guests (see Binh & Vinh) were the best dancers. I got a rousing round of applause. It went rather late for us and we went to bed exhausted, but happy.
