The Saga - Part II

So, I had to fly from Taipei to Sai Gon first before getting to Ha noi. While getting the transfer, a kind young foreign student from Ha Noi helped me figure out what to do and where to go. Her name is Kim and she has been studying in the U.S. That's Kim on the cell phone. When we arrived at Sai Gon, we had to take all of our luggage from the International Terminal, load it on a cart, and then go to the domestic terminal. Not only that, when we got outside of the International terminal, we had to change to a different cart!

The next photo is of three more students from Ha Noi along with Kim. These new students were exchange students who each finished their senior year in the states. I was helped by all four and we had great fun laughing at the differences between the two cultures.

We took off from Sai Gon in a thunderstorm but made it successfully to Ha Noi. I was supposed to arrive earlier in the day, and Nam's family was there to greet me, but I finally arrived at 8:40 p.m. That was over 10 hours late. I will see them soon, and I am looking forward to that.

I was greeted at the airport by Quan and Hoa. They had been at the airport since morning and I am so thankful they waited for me. Hoa drove us to Phat Diem where we stopped at a roadside shop for some quick food and beer before turning the corner to the bishop's house. We unloaded my stuff, I went up to my room, put a few things away, then slept soundly until breakfast. It was a long trek.
