In the summers I spend time with my good friends in Phat Diem, Vietnam, a small country village with a world famous cathedral. Here are some of my musings. If you would like to correspond, please email me: garymeegan@gmail.com.

The Last Class for the Beginning Students
Being the final class for the beginning students, we worked hard for two hours on pronunciation. The last exercise was everyone telling as much as they could about their families. It was so much better than when they began three weeks ago. As a present, I gave each of them a Serra shirt, compliments of Ed Taylor (thanks, Ed).Then it was their turn to give presents. I received two beautiful scrolls, one of Our Lady of La Vang, Vietnam, for me. They also gave, for my father, a scroll with traditional Vietnamese images and sayings from Vietnam. Dad, you're making quite a haul this year.
