In the summers I spend time with my good friends in Phat Diem, Vietnam, a small country village with a world famous cathedral. Here are some of my musings. If you would like to correspond, please email me: garymeegan@gmail.com.

Stopping for Paintings for Patricia
We stopped along the roadside where there were a number of people selling art. I was looking for a couple of small paintings to compliment the one I bought for Patricia last year in Ha Noi. We checked at one stall and the woman ran all over trying to find one for me. She even went to her competitors. In the end, I settled on two paintings that had red accent colors. On the left is the woman who sold me the paintings alongside her best friend.Behind the shop was a house where the woman's son and his boys worked as carvers of wood. One of the boys (the one on the right) had just finished one small section and he was very proud to show it to me, and even prouder to have his picture taken with it.
