The King's Retreat and Grave

Tuu Duc was a poor king who lacked any backbone. When things went wrong, he blamed himself and he did not rule with any great authority. This site he built for fun and on the backs of many peasants. It is being restored with the help of the German government.

There is a large pond with streams flowing into it. The king would row his boat around and compose poetry.

A beautiful bonsai. Here, bonsai are not super small, but rather about 3-5 feet tall.
